Developer Diary: A Taste of Things to Come..
15 May 2003
It may seem like there's been little happening on Flummaxed, but it's exactly the opposite. A few months ago, we made some organisation changes that have allowed each team member to work individually as they need, yet remain as a team. Every 2 months, we get together to discuss progress, general issues and any other ideas. Between these meetings we produce work individually, and discuss it online. This change gives more time to actually work, rather than having too many meetings.
The writing and background art is developing well. A fair number of conversations have also been recorded. There is still quite a bit of work to complete on character animations, which will be put into focus later this year. A new development has also been the use of 3D to animate vehicles and other small aspects. 3D is also being used to plan rooms and scenes, improving perspective and giving greater control over scene layout. Other team members will be sharing some behind-the-scenes news about working on these aspects of the game later in the year.
What else can you expect to see in the next 6 months? A fresh new website. Updated previews of characters and backgrounds. And a game teaser. It's going to be exciting as the game begins to take shape, and we look forward to sharing it with you. Some new previews have already been placed online to wet your appetite.
Enjoy, and see you in a month!
